How to Volunteer

We welcome your interest in participation, but due to our size, we are limited to the number of volunteers we can use on a work site safely.  Opportunities vary with construction stages and seasons.  In addition, we have a need for clerical (office/event) volunteers.  

Individual volunteer time commitments may vary from a day or two of construction help a week, to a few hours a month of non-construction assistance. As a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, you can choose to volunteer as little or as often as we can accommodate. All volunteer activities act as a tremendous gift to us and help our families, neighborhoods and communities in many direct and indirect ways!

To volunteer, please follow these steps:

All individual volunteers must fill out an application, watch a Safety Orientation video and sign a Release and Waiver of Liability.  In addition, construction volunteers must take an online safety course before they can work at any construction site.   Please see requirements below for volunteer groups (corporation, church, club, etc.)

All Volunteers (Click on the green links to submit your forms): 
     1.  Complete this Fillable Volunteer Application
​     2.  Watch the Safety Orientation video shown below.
     3.  Complete the fillable Release and Waiver of Liability

Construction Volunteers - In addition to the above:  

1. Review the Construction Safety Information and Safety Guidelines
2. Take the Online Safety Course with General Information for Construction Volunteers 
   1. When you get to the website, take the following Recommended Safety Courses
      1. You are Exposed: General Affiliate Safety
      2. Fall Safety
      3. Volunteering on a Habitat for Humanity Job Site
   2. When you have passed the courses, a certificate will be sent to our office. 
3. After we receive your certificate, we will contact you so that you may join us at a work site.

FOR VOLUNTEER GROUPS:
One representative/leader should fill out the application and take the online training.  Each person in the group needs to watch the Safety Orientation video below, read our safety information and sign the waivers.

Please note: Your application takes time to process.  We cannot call to schedule a work day until we have the certificate for your training.  Training certificates are sent to us each Friday by our insurance company.  Please give yourself or your group plenty of time for your application to be processed.

We can create special opportunities for youth to be involved, however, to volunteer for construction as an individual, you must be 18 years of age.
